“Well, at least we don’t have to learn about insurance…amiright? Eck!”

In this edition: Whole lotta’ helpful Webinars this week, the “W5”, useful stuff for hurricane season and CE compliance, going old school
Last week kicked off another school year for our 7-yo. Her excitement to return felt nostalgic…I remember that feeling about school. Do you?
Because of you, I get to feel that excitement every day. At the Florida Insurance School of CE we’re fortunate to spend every day developing and cranking out education experiences that bring together FL’s insurance community. I’m not kidding when I say this week’s slate may be our finest yet. Highlights are below.
The “W5.” A few months ago we launched the “W5” – “Weekend Webinars for Work-Week Warriors” to great fanfare. Here’s the deal: we offer two live (no exam!) 4-Hour Law & Ethics Update Webinars (one for P&C, one for Life/Health) on a Saturday each month through year-end. If this works best for you, check out the schedule for the W5’s coming in September and beyond.
Webinars streaming from our virtual schoolhouse this week: cyber, employment practices, Life/Health and Claims Adjuster licensees get ethical, homeowners loss settlement issues, homeowners weirdness, and good people doing bad things. I could go on but your attention span is dropping faster than your second-grade teacher’s patience for back-sass so I’ll get to it. Here are the highlights:
- “My computer says something about ‘DDoS’…is that bad?” Join commercial lines guru Cathy “On a Mission” Trischan Tuesday morning and gain valuable expertise on various cyber threats as well as the coverage solutions to help you protect your insured from being the next victim.
- “I don’t need that because we’re all friends here.” -No prudent employer, ever. Cathy is back Tuesday afternoon for the latest info regarding employment practices liability and the essential insurance products that address it.
- Hey Life/Health licensees: get some ethics! If you need your 4-hour Law/Ethics Update, join Karin “I’ll Ask An Alaskan” Woofter Wednesday morning and she’ll knock it out with you.
- Hey Claims Adjuster licensees: you, too! If you need your 4-hour Law/Ethics Update, join yours truly Wednesday morning and we’ll knock it out together.
- RCE, ACV, WTH?! Join personal lines guru Nicole “WTH’s Decaf?” Broch Wednesday afternoon for an electric hour on several loss settlement issues common in homeowners policy claims.
- Dogs, burglars, renovations and other weirdo claims. Nicole brings her expertise and energetic style back to the hotseat Thursday morning with tons of hot takes on homeowners claims and what the policy should do with them.
- Take a dive with Terry. Legendary insurance educator and long-time agency principal Terry “Everyone’s Insurance Dad” Tadlock returns Thursday afternoon to explore the effect an agency’s leadership, culture and ethics have on insureds.
- Resources, resources, resources: in a recent edition, we provided some useful resources regarding your CE compliance and to help prepare your insureds for Hurricane Season. If you missed it, here’s a link.
For more info about what we’re up to, see the list below and/or review the full Webinar Schedule on the website.
Finally, if you’re an unapologetic lover of our fine state take your bookbag and apple to the bottom of this newsletter for this week’s “F5” (Fascinating Factoid For Fanatical Floridians.)
That’s all for now. Until the next round…cheers!
