This Week’s Schedule/Highlights (all times Eastern. Keep scrolling to see the full month schedule.)

  • WED, 11/12, 9a – 1p – For Property & Casualty Licensees in 2025: 4-Hour Law & Ethics Update. P&C licensee friends: instructor Dave “Special Sauce” Thompson returns with the latest happenings in FL’s marketplace. Get compliant, learn useful stuff, and pick up a BBQ tip or two to sweeten your holiday meal planning!

  • WED, 11/12, 2 – 3p - An Hour with Dave: Stack UM, Save Florida! Dave is back to drive home why stacking UM is essential to protecting the well-being of EVERY personal auto insured.

  • THURS, 11/13, 9a – 12p - Homeowners Endorsements Insureds Don't Want (But Do Need). To save a buck, consumers are quick to strip off coverage and/or buy coverage that doesn’t match their exposure. This course, taught by FISCE’s “human energy drink” Nicole Broch, provides many examples and risks insurance pros can use to talk insureds through coverage that is best for their policy and how to get it in the most affordable way possible. Discussion includes reference to many endorsements - some common, some not – insureds should consider.

  • THURS, 11/13, 2 – 3p - An Hour with Nicole: Making Sense of Homeowners Deductibles (Once and For All!) Deductibles are commonly understood when agents sell and service a policy. However, applying deductibles to a loss may not work how they expect. Nicole is back in the hotseat with several examples to assist insurance pros in finally understanding homeowners deductibles.

  • SATURDAY, 11/15, 9a – 12p - Definition of Insanity: Common Home and Auto Exposures We Know Are There & Do Nothing About. FISCE’s “Guy-o from Ohio” Scott Treen is back to discuss several home and auto exposures that most everyone knows are there yet, for some reason, continue to cause coverage problems. Furnished vehicles, trailers, personal property, kids earning cash, watercraft, and several other common exposures will be discussed with the hope of addressing them in a way that finally produces a different result: adequate coverage!

  • SATURDAY, 11/15, 9a – 1p - For Property & Casualty Licensees in 2025: 4-Hour Law & Ethics Update. Too busy to make the midweek show? No worries – we’re doing it all over again with Dave on Saturday.

  • SATURDAY, 11/15, 9a – 1p - For Life & Health Licensees in 2025: 4-Hour Law & Ethics Update. Join instructor Karin “I’ll Ask An Alaskan” Woofter, get compliant, and learn the latest happenings in FL’s life/health/financial space.

  • SATURDAY, 11/15, 1 – 2p - An Hour with Dave: Understanding Ordinance or Law (Because Insureds Still Don’t). Ordinance or Law exposures continue to evolve and your insureds still don’t understand why it matters. It’s imperative that you stay up to date with exposures that affect personal or commercial insureds in your area. Insurance pros who take this course with Dave Thompson will gain expertise on how to keep up with exposures, explain them to insureds, and secure the coverage needed to avoid ugliness at claim time.

Finally, if you’re an unapologetic lover of all-things Florida keep scrolling to experience this week’s “F5”: a tasty knowledge nugget about everyone’s favorite state.

Until the next round…cheers!

THE “F5” (FASCINATING FACTOID FOR FANATICAL FLORIDIANS) –

Your beach nap won’t last.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to dose off on the gorgeous beaches around Valparaiso, Florida in the Panhandle you’ve likely been startled awake by the sonic screaming of low-flying planes. This tends to happen when you’re down the street from the largest Air Force Base on planet earth. At 725 square miles, Eglin AFB is the largest in the world. Its roots date back to 1935 when it was created amid the outbreak of World War II to provide a new air testing base as part of the Valparaiso Bombing and Gunnery Base.
