Best Players = More (Webinar) Wins

Florida Insurance School Continuing Education FISCE

“He who gets the best players usually wins.”

-Bobby Bowden

Greetings!

Couldn’t have said it better myself, Coach (mostly because I lack the folksy delivery and charming drawl.) I believe we at the FISCE do three things exceptionally well:

  1. Find and feature the finest insurance instructors on the planet,
  2. Facilitate world-class education programs that are equal parts informative and entertaining, and
  3. College football*.

(*Disclosure: the FISCE doesn’t actually play football.) Just typing those two words – college football – made me smile and I hope you did, too. It’s that time of year when we all get one day a week to take a breather and just be Knights, Gators, Canes, Bulls, Owls, Panthers, Rattlers, or dadgum Noles (shout-out Coach Bowden – RIP.)

And what a week of Webinars to kick off the season! I could go on but your attention span is dropping faster than non-Florida teams from the top 25 so I’ll get to it. Here are this week’s highlights:

  • What the %^&* is happening with the NFIP? Join FISCE’s resident flood insurance expert Robin “Go Rhody Rams” Federici Tuesday morning for the latest.
  • “If I had known I’d live this long I’d have taken better care of myself!” Those words, spoken by my Grandpa “Go Irish” Nick, resonate with many of your insureds. Join Corey “Go U-Dub Huskies” Wilkins Tuesday afternoon for tips on insurance products designed to calm those golden years fears.
  • Gimme’ Five! Property & Casualty licensee friends: if you’re in need of your 5-hour Law & Ethics update, join yours “Go Knights” truly Wednesday morning and we’ll knock it out together!
  • Most drone pilots are responsible (and some are idiots who crash them into things and people.) Come fly with yours truly for an hour Wednesday afternoon to discuss coverage issues regarding personal and commercial use of drones.
  • Annoying but important. Your personal lines book is crawling with annoying home and auto coverage issues that cause big problems at claim time. Join our guy-o-from-Ohio Scott “Go Buckeyes” Treen Thursday morning for tons of tips on fleshing them out.
  • What the truck?! Join Sam “Go Mizzou Tigers” Bennett Thursday afternoon for a truckload of info about commercial auto risks and coverage.

For more info about what we’re up to, see the list below and/or review the full Webinar Schedule on the website.

Finally, if you’re an unapologetic lover of our fine state be sure to blow to the bottom of this newsletter for a little something special.

That’s all for now. Until the next round…cheers!

FASCINATING FACTOID FOR FANATICAL FLORIDIANS –

What’s the biggest college football rivalry in Florida? Many would say Noles vs. Gators who’ve faced each other 64 times since 1958. Others believe it’s the Noles and Canes who first met in 1951 and have played 65 times since.

If you combined the number of games played in both of the sunshine state’s most notable rivalries, you’d still need several more years to catch up to college football’s longest running rivalry between the Yale Bulldogs and Princeton Tigers. The Ivy League foes boast the oldest rivalry in college football dating back to 1873 with a series record favoring the Bulldogs at 78-54-10. The rivalry likely peaked in the late 19th century with the two teams combining for 21 national titles (Yale 13, Princeton 8) between 1869 and 1894.
