THE “F5” (FASCINATING FACTOID FOR FANATICAL FLORIDIANS) –
The nine holdouts.
It’s often said that the “entire state is a flood zone” so it’s no surprise that FL has the highest number of communities participating in the National Flood Program.
That said, there are nine communities in the Sunshine State that do NOT participate. How many can you find on the map without cheating?
- City of Bay Lake
- Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (formerly know as Reddy Creek Improvement District)
- Town of Greenwood
- Village of Highland Park
- Town of Hillcrest Heights
- Town of Jacob City
- Town of Jennings
- City of Lake Buena Vista
- Town of Raiford
